Bring your own partner doubles disc golf tournament played at Scarboro Hills Disc Golf Course. This tournament was held in memory of Tyler Anderson, an avid disc golfer who had a passion for working with and helping animals. Sadly, Tyler was taken from us in November 2012. A portion of the proceeds will go to the Humane Society of Harford County, MD.
Two holes were added to accommodate the 80 players to fill the field. Two rounds of 20 holes each were played as we had our largest group of spectators. While not watching the action, those new to the sport could experience the fun of disc golf on their own, on a temporary 3 hole course, and get some tips from club members Don Simonetti and Josh Lemly.
Congrats to all the winners yesterday, lots of people went home with with some great stuff. Shawn Johnson & Justin Duncan won the Gold division, Andrew Ingrao & Jeff Ulman won Silver, and Father/Son duo Dennis Borries & Chris Borries won Bronze. First place finishers in Gold and Silver each walked away with vouchers for a pair of Keen shoes. Also congrats to Kurt Demarra and Brandon Hauer for their aces on hole 9 and 5, respectively. Brandon's ace also won him the CTP prize.
Big thanks to all our sponsors, including Jarretsville Veterinary Center, Evans Funeral Services, and others, for all their contributions. Scorpio Disc Golf as well for handling the payouts once again. Also to everyone else for their donations. Still totaling up all the money raised, and will post when counted. Shout out to one of Tyler's best friends, Nick Carrillo on designing the tournament logo (silhouette of Tyler and his two dogs).
